Lourdes wrapped up the 2019-2020 regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling to the University of Northwestern Ohio 83-75 inside of Racer Gymnasium in Lima, Ohio.

The Gray Wolves led for most of the first 30 minutes, but the Racers scored 52 second half points to erase a three-point halftime deficit and earn the win.

After Northwestern Ohio scored the first two free throws of the game, Lourdes went on an 8-0 run, and held the Racers without a field goal for more than four minutes to open the contest. The Racers pulled back even at 17 before the Gray Wolves scored seven of the next nine points to build a 26-19 advantage, Lourdes largest of the day.

Again, the Racers fought back, tying the game at 28 before Lourdes took at 34-31 lead into the locker room.

A three-point by the hosts at the 15:40 mark put UNOH on top momentarily, 43-42, only for
Julian Egbo (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) to answer with a basket 18 second slater. The lead went back and forth, with a jumper by Egbo at the 9:33 mark giving Lourdes its final advantage of the game, 52-51.

With the contest tied at 54 with just under nine minutes remaining, Northwestern Ohio scored six of the next eight points to take the lead for good.

The Racer advantage was just one, 67-66, following a
Clif Snow (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown H.S.) three-pointer at the 2:14 mark, but Northwestern Ohio would score the next seven points to push the advantage to eight with just over a minute left. The Racers would make 11 free throws in the final 1:21 of the game to secure the win.

Snow led Lourdes with 19 points and nine rebounds off the bench while Egbo tallied a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.Â
Kenny Coleman (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.) added 12 points and four assists.

Lourdes shot 42.9% from the floor, but committed 13 turnovers. The Gray Wolves also won the rebounding battle 39-28, allowing just one offensive board.

Nathan Lessing led Northwestern Ohio (11-19, 7-13 WHAC) with 23 points while Elijah Pughsley added 22 points.

Lourdes (20-10, 13-7) will host a quarterfinal game in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament on Wednesday evening. Official tournament pairings will be released by the league office later in the weekend.
