Playing in the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament game in program history, Lourdes fell to 10
th-ranked Indiana Tech 74-41 on Thursday evening in the quarterfinals played inside of the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Gray Wolves shot just 25.8% from the floor, and made 4-of-21 (25.8%) from three-point range on a tough shooting night.

"I was proud of this team for qualifying for the tournament and playing in postseason for the first time tonight," head coach
John Kenger said afterwards. "Now that we have arrived, this needs to be the standard from which we continue to build."

The top-seed Warriors led from start to finish, but the Gray Wolves kept the game close most of the first quarter. A basket inside by
Mary Liedel (Erie, Mich./Mason H.S.) had Lourdes within three, 12-9, with under two minutes to play in the stanza before trailing by seven after one period.

Mirandia Green (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) converted a three-point play at the 8:49 mark of the second to make it 18-12, but Indiana Tech answered with the next 12 points, holding the Gray Wolves scoreless for more than six minutes.

Leah Goodwin (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Reynoldsburg H.S.) came off the bench and scored seven points in the final three minutes of the half, but the Gray Wolves trailed 40-19 at the break.

Out of the locker room, the Warriors slowly continued to increase their lead, pushing their advantage to as many as 29 before heading into the final 10 minutes of play in front 58-52.

Lourdes was able to cut into the deficit early in the fourth, pulling to within 60-39 after
Addie Conroy (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) took advantage of a steal and scored on the fastbreak. The Gray Wolves would not get any closer though, as Indiana Tech (27-4) advanced to the WHAC semifinals.

Conroy and Goodwin led Lourdes (11-20) with seven points each while Liedel finished with six and a team-high nine rebounds.

DeAnn Kauffman led Indiana Tech with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Rachel Bell had 12 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds.

The Warriors shot 44.8% from the floor, and outrebounded Lourdes 47-35.

Lourdes saw its season end after tying the school record with 11 victories this year.
