Lourdes began the 2020 lacrosse season on Tuesday afternoon, scoring an 18-9 victory on the road against Montreat at Howard Fisher Memorial Field in Montreat, N.C.

Patrick Yannarelli said. "Everyone was excited to get out there and we played with intensity. We are a work in progress and looking forward to practice."

Blake Alexander (Edgewood, Ky./Dixie Heights H.S.) scored six times and handed out three assists to lead the Gray Wolves.Â
Cory Campbell (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook H.S.) added six more tallies while
Chad Causley (Clinton Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse H.S.) handed out four assists to go along with a goal.

Clay Hall (Great Mills, Md./Saint Mary's Ryken H.S.),
Jake Noel (Knoxville, Tenn./William Blount H.S.), and
Nick Johnson (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) all found the back of the cage for the Gray Wolves while
Derek Howard (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.),
Mike Stibal (Commerce Township, Mich./Lakeland H.S.), and
Nate Allan (Peterborough, Ont./Saint Peters Catholic H.S.) each tallied their first career goals.

Sam Cleveland (Clackamas, Ore./Clackamas H.S.) made nine saves in goal over 45 minutes of action while
Tyler Queen (Odenton, Md./Arundel H.S.) made four stops in the fourth quarter.

Noel won 16-of-18 faceoffs for the Gray Wolves and had a team-high 12 ground balls while Allan had five ground balls.

Chris Jackson led Montreat (1-6) with four goals and an assist.

Lourdes (1-0) will head to Laurinburg, N.C. on Thursday afternoon to face Saint Andrews. The opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m. at Knights Field.
