Lourdes wrapped up its spring trip on Thursday, dropping a 14-2 contest to fifth-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan at Jack Bowling Field in Athens, Tenn.

Josh Bradford said after the game. "They swung the bats well and we didn't today."

The Bulldogs opened the game scoring a pair of runs in the opening inning, only to see the Gray Wolves answer quickly in the second.Â
Bryce Gargus (South Haven, Mich./South Haven H.S.) singled home
Jay Denman (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.) with Lourdes first run.Â
Zack Mon (Columbus, Ohio/Westland H.S.), who was hit by a pitch, used two wild pitches to cross the plate, tying the game at two.

Tennessee Wesleyan (16-6) retook the lead with two runs in the third and added two unearned tallies in the fourth. Leading 7-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs scored seven times, closing the game on a three-run home run by Chase Fullington.

Chanlder Kendall earned the win (2-1), working five innings while allowing two runs on three hits and striking out seven.Â
Kolby Rogge (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) suffered the loss (1-2), allowing four runs and eight hits in three innings of work.

Lourdes (7-7) is scheduled to have nine days off before opening Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 21, as the Gray Wolves travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. for doubleheader action. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. at DeWitt Stadium.
