Women's wrestling made its program debut on Saturday afternoon for Lourdes University, and three Gray Wolves picked up individual victories in a 28-12 setback to Brewton-Parker in a neutral site match held inside the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Kate Hill said afterwards. "They came out after a shortened season and won matches against opponents who have been competing all year. We were excited for the opportunity to compete."
After the Barons earned a forfeit victory at 101 pounds to start the day,
Mari Romo (Houston, Texas/Foster H.S.) became the first Gray Wolf to take the mat. She battled in a close contest before falling in a 10-6 decision.
Mattie Meek (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis H.S.) became the first Lourdes wrestler in program history to earn a victory, scoring a 10-0 technical fall at 116 pounds.
Stefana Jelacic (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Chandler H.S.) followed with another technical fall by the exact same score at 123 to put the Gray Wolves in front 9-8.
Theresa Rankin (Grass Lake, Mich./Grass Lake H.S.) picked up two points in the closing seconds of her 130-pound bout to earn a 7-6 decision, scoring the team's final points of the day.
Akemi Garcia (Orlando, Fla./Cypress Creek H.S.) made her collegiate debut at 136 but dropped a 10-0 technical fall.
Brewton-Parker (1-4, 1-2 MSC) earned victories at the next three spots via forfeit to win the match.
Lourdes (0-1, 0-1) will return to action next Friday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Williamsburg, Ky. for two more Mid-South Conference matches. The Gray Wolves will face host Cumberlands (Ky.) and Campbellsville with the tri-match commencing at 7 p.m. inside of the Old Armory Building.
