Lourdes Registers Road Win at Rochester

Lourdes bounced back from Saturday's tough five-set loss with a four-set road victory on Monday evening as the Gray Wolves defeated Rochester (Mich.) 25-22, 15-25, 25-15, 25-7 inside of Garth Pleasant Arena in Rochester Hills, Mich.

"We played well for much of the match," head coach Greg Reitz said afterwards.  "Our serve and pass improved as the match progressed which helped our offense.  We still have some work to do, but we put ourselves in a better position."

McKenna Hall (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) put down 22 kills and hit .385 offensively while adding 18 digs on the defensive end of the floor.  Michaela Eisenhauer (Castalia, Ohio/Margaretta H.S.) and Abby Gentile (Blissfield, Mich./Blissfield H.S.) added nine kills each, with Eisenhauer swinging at a .438 clip.  Katey Stakolich (Parma, Ohio/Normandy H.S.) handed out 40 assists while directing an offense that hit .215 for the night.

Defensively, Alli Plasencio (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) picked up 33 digs while Gentile added 18 more.  Vanessa Villarreal (Monroe, Mich./Saint Mary Central Catholic H.S.) added 10 digs.

The Gray Wolves put down 14 or more kills and hit .225 or better in each of the three sets they won, including an 18-kill effort in the opening set.  Lourdes limited Rochester to two kills and a -.140 hitting percentage in the fourth set.

Taylor Butkiewicz led Rochester (11-24, 3-15 WHAC) with 17 kills while Charlise Hyde tallied 21 digs.

Lourdes (11-16, 7-11) closes out the road portion of the 2021 regular season on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Lima, Ohio to face Northwestern Ohio.  First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of Racer Gymnasium.
