Lourdes Shatters Scoring Mark in Homecoming Win

Lourdes shattered the school's single game point record on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves coasted to a 132-74 victory over Miami-Middletown during Homecoming weekend at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The Gray Wolves surpassed the previous mark of 107 points scored at Northwestern Ohio on Feb. 14, 2018, on the way to just the third 100-point effort in program history.

"I am just really proud of how well the team played together and for each other," head coach Tandy Bradford said after the victory.  "You don't get 30 assists in a game without teamwork.  It's awesome to see them achieve their goal of going 3-0 this week.  It will bring us solid growth in the future."

Six Gray Wolves tallied double figures, led by Mercedes Wagner's (Sherwood, Ohio/Fairview H.S.) 29-point, 12-rebound double-double.  She was 13-of-21 from the floor.  Alex Wolfe (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) also registered a double-double for the Gray Wolves with 12 points and 11 boards.

Shae Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) added 22 points and seven assists while Shallyn Miley (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan H.S.) contributed 19 points.  Addie Conroy (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) and Maddie Norton (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) came off the bench to score 12 and 10 points respectively.

Lourdes built a 64-38 halftime lead and reached the century mark on a Winter Richburg (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) triple just before the buzzer to end the third quarter.

The Gray Wolves outrebounded Miami-Middletown (0-1) 73-35 for the game and scored 74 points in the paint.

Tiaria White led the ThunderHawks with 15 points.

Lourdes (3-2) will take to the road on Wednesday evening to begin Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play.  The Gray Wolves head to Grand Rapids, Mich. to battle Aquinas with gametime set for 5:30 p.m. inside the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center.
