Playing the school's last game in 2021, the Lourdes women's basketball team dropped an 86-68 decision to Rochester (Mich.) on Thursday afternoon inside of Garth Pleasant Arena in Rochester Hills, Mich.

The Warriors scored the game's first seven points on the way to building a 26-8 lead after the opening quarter. Rochester forced 11 Lourdes turnovers in the opening 10 minutes, turning the miscues into 17 points, while opening up its advantage.

The Gray Wolves deficit grew to 24, 34-10, in the early stages of the second quarter before Lourdes battled back late in the half to pull within 43-24 at intermission.

A 12-0 run by the Warriors midway through the third quarter pushed the lead to 30, 60-30, before Lourdes battled back in the final stanza. A 7-0 run made it a 20-point game a minute into the fourth quarter before the Gray Wolves were able to get as close as 18 in the final minutes.

Mercedes Wagner (Sherwood, Ohio/Fairview H.S.) led Lourdes with 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting while
Gabby Stover (Lexington, Ohio/Lexington H.S.) registered a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.Â
Logan Ingram (Mount Pleasant, Mich./Mount Pleasant H.S.) chipped in 11 points off the bench.

Lourdes shot 36.4% from the floor but committed 25 turnovers on the day. Rochester connected at a 42% clip from the field.

Hannah Reinhold led all scorers for Rochester (12-4, 7-0 WHAC) with 25 points while Victoria Guardiola added 16 points.Â

Lourdes (5-10, 0-7) women's basketball will also open up 2022 for Gray Wolf athletics traveling to Mount Vernon, Ohio on New Year's Day to face 24
th-ranked Mount Vernon Nazarene. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. inside of Ariel Arena.
