Lourdes Earns Two Fifth Place Finishes at Oklahoma City Virtual Invitational

Meet 1 Results
Meet 2 Results

Competing in two events on Friday evening, Lourdes posted a pair of fifth place finishes at the Oklahoma City Virtual Invitational.

Each meet saw eight schools all competing in their home gym, with scores tabulated by judges at a remote location and then combined for the final results.

"It was nice to have the opportunity to compete against schools from another region of the country we do not usually have the opportunity to see before nationals.  We made some major mistakes during our first performance, but I was proud with how the team bounced back to perform a zero-deduction routine in the second round."

In round one, Lourdes posted a score of 73.96, just 0.17 points behind fourth place Mid-America Nazarene.  Indiana Wesleyan took home top honors with a total of 85.65, while Oklahoma City was second at 85.26.

The second competition saw the Gray Wolves improve to a 77.06 total, 1.5 points behind fourth place Central Methodist while Mid-America Nazarene finished behind Lourdes.  Saint Ambrose took home top honors in that competition with a total of 87.63, 0.2 points ahead of runner-up Oklahoma City.

Lourdes did not have any deductions in either routine on the evening.

Lourdes will return to action next Friday, Feb. 19, as the Gray Wolves take part in the Saint Francis (Ind.) Invitational.
