Lourdes hit a blistering .468 for the match and committed just nine attack errors on Friday afternoon as the 10^th-ranked Gray Wolves swept Cornerstone 25-13, 25-11, 25-12 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
 
"We played sound from start to finish today," head coach Greg Reitz said afterwards.  "We served aggressively to score points and got them out of system.  We also played sound defense."
 
Stefan Albrecht (Euclid, Ohio/Middletown [Wis.] H.S.) put down 12 kills and hit .706 while Ricardo Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco) tallied 12 kills as well.
 
Ian Fields (Phoenix, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor H.S.) dished out 36 assists and recorded four service aces while Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) added five aces, giving him 100 for his career.
 
Guga Heidrich (Braco do Norte, Brazil/Colegio Unificado) picked up 13 digs as the Gray Wolves held a 35-19 advantage in that statistical category.
 
Lourdes held Cornerstone to just 10 kills and a -.032 hitting percentage for the match.
 
The Gray Wolves committed just one error in the opening set, swinging at a .593 clip.  Lourdes scored the final six points of the stanza to take the early lead in the match.  In set two, the Gray Wolves opened the set with a 13-4 lead and then tallied the final five of the frame.  Cornerstone managed just two kills in the third set as Lourdes built a 12-2 lead and finished the set with five straight points, including a pair of aces from Lam.
 
Lourdes (8-1, 6-1 WHAC) continues its three-match homestand on March 5, hosting Aquinas.  First serve is set for 4 p.m.
