Stefana Jelacic (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Chandler H.S.) earned NAIA All-American honors and moved into the semifinals at the NAIA National Invitational while
Theresa Rankin (Grass Lake, Mich./Grass Lake H.S.) also earned All-American accolades on Friday as day one concluded inside of Herold Newman Arena in Jamestown, N.D.

Jelacic, the third seed at 116 pounds, wasted little time on the mat Friday in advancing to the semifinals. The freshman scored a tech fall against Cora Johnson 11-0 just 1:12 into her opening round contest before needing 1:40 to defeat Valeria Davilla of Wayland Baptist 10-0 in round two. Jelacic posted another 10-0 tech fall in the quarterfinals, dispatching of Simpson's Aphrodite Ayala in 1:20. In Saturday morning's semifinals, Jelacic will face seventh-seeded Charlotte Fowler of Campbellsville.
Rankin, wrestling at 123 pounds, began her day with a 7-4 upset decision over eighth-seeded Rebekah Cordova of Wayland Baptist. The fifth-year senior then advanced into the quarterfinals after pinning Samantha Weeks of Jamestown with 59 seconds remaining in the second period. In the quarterfinals, Rankin fell 8-0 to top-seeded Julia Vidallon of Life. Rankin then bounced back in the All-American round in the consolation bracket, defeating Mami Selemani of William Penn with a 10-0 tech fall just 33 seconds into the match. She will face seventh-seeded Jasmin Davis of Wayland Baptist on Saturday morning as she continues her quest to finish as high as third.
Akemi Garcia (Orlando, Fla./Cypress Creek H.S.) also competed at 123 pounds for the Gray Wolves. She fell via a fall just 30 seconds into her opening round match against second-seeded Jasmine Hernandez of Lyon before bouncing back in the consolation draw. Garcia downed Avery Thomason of Midland with a fall in the closing seconds of the opening period. Her tournament run ended one match later as she suffered a fall against Kendall Martin of Corbin.
Mattie Meek (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis H.S.) was the first Lourdes grappler to take the mat on Friday competing at 109 pounds. She suffered a fall against top-seeded McKayla Campbell of Campbellsville in round one before rebounding to score a 14-4 tech fall against Nayeli Flores of Eastern Oregon. Meek's tournament came to a close in the second round of consolations, falling to Korigan Wilkey of Indiana Tech 10-4.
As a team, Lourdes is in 19
th place in the field of 31 schools after day one of competition with 24.5 points. The Gray Wolves trail 18
th place Missouri Baptist by just one point heading into Saturday. Campbellsville leads the championships with 126.5 points while Life is currently second with 100.5 points.
Saturday's action will begin at 11 a.m. inside of Herold Newman Arena.
