Abigail Mann (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) tallied a pair of goals on Tuesday evening as Lourdes wrapped up its regular season with a 2-1 victory over Michigan-Dearborn at Fordson High School in Dearborn, Mich.
The Gray Wolves fell behind in the 14
th minute as Gabriella Teems converted a penalty kick for the Wolverines to put the hosts in front 1-0.
Mann evened the score with a penalty kick of her own with 15:01 to play in the first half, and the match remained deadlocked heading into intermission despite a 9-3 shot advantage for the Gray Wolves.
Mann scored again just 1:25 out of the break, tallying her team-leading fourth goal of the season on a combination play with
Erika Turk (Parma, Ohio/Parma H.S.) drawing the assist.
The Gray Wolves would hold on to the lead the final 43 minutes, with
Lily Yoder (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) making two saves in goal. Lourdes outshot Michigan-Dearborn (0-2) 19-6 for the match, forcing Lisa Kohler to make 11 saves for the Wolverines.
Lourdes (5-10) will head to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament, traveling to Grand Rapids, Mich. on Saturday afternoon to face Aquinas. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Aquinas Athletic Field.
