Prior to Saturday's game against Aquinas, Lourdes honored its seven seniors, but when the game began the Saints spoiled the celebration with a 27-1 victory over the Gray Wolves at Wildcat Stadium.
Aquinas (4-2, 3-1 WHAC) scored the game's first eight goals before
Erin Manley (Ottawa Lake, Mich./Whiteford H.S.) scored her first collegiate goal to put the Gray Wolves on the scoreboard.
The Saints would add eight more prior to the game being delayed 44 minutes due to lightning with Aquinas in front 16-1 with 3:57 to play in the first half.
Aquinas continued to add to its lead throughout the second half on the way to the win.
The Saints outshot Lourdes 37-8, with Manley and
Emiliana Taylor (Granger, Ind./Saint Joseph H.S.) each registering three shots. Taylor also had two draw controls for the Gray Wolves.
Jacque Pappadakes (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River H.S.) made nine saves in goal for Lourdes.
Prior to the game the Gray Wolves recognized Manley, Taylor, and Pappadakes along with
