Second-ranked Indiana Tech scored four times less than five minutes into the game on Friday evening as the Warriors defeated Lourdes 17-10 at Warrior Athletic Field in Fort Wayne, Ind. in the semifinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.

The four Warrior goals came in a span of 2:18 and Indiana Tech added another goal with 4:04 to play in the opening quarter to build an early 5-0 lead.

Kyle Schiel (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) finally put the Gray Wolves on the scoreboard 25 seconds later.Â
Chad Causley (Clinton Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse H.S.) and
Cory Campbell (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook H.S.) added goals late in the period as Lourdes pulled within two after the opening 15 minutes.

The two sides traded goals over the first half of the second quarter, with Causley and
Drew Gilhooly (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central H.S.) both finding the back of the cage for the Gray Wolves. Indiana Tech then pushed the lead back to four, 9-5, before Campbell and
Tyler Pezzot (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek H.S.) pulled Lourdes to within two. Indiana Tech scored one final goal with eight seconds left before halftime to take a 10-7 lead into the break.

Nick Johnson (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) scored to open the third and
Nate Allan (Peterborough, Ont./Saint Peters Catholic H.S.) added a tally with just 42 seconds left in the third with goalkeeper
Tyler Queen (Odenton, Md./Arundel H.S.) drawing the assists, and Lourdes was within two, 11-9, heading to the fourth.

Indiana Tech (15-1) scored the first two goals of the final quarter before Allan added the final goal of the season for the Gray Wolves, a man down, to make it a 13-10 game. The Warriors added four late goals though to secure the win.

The Warriors outshot Lourdes (7-5) 45-25 for the game and won 17 of the 30 faceoffs in the game. Queen made 10 saves in net for the Gray Wolves while Joe Steigmeyer made seven stops for Indiana Tech. Allan led Lourdes with seven ground balls and
Luke Burridge (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater H.S.) added six.Â
