Lourdes took to the road on Saturday, dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Michigan-Dearborn by the scores of 4-0 and 5-1 at Novi High School in Novi, Mich.
In the opener, Holly Kimes limited Lourdes to just five hits and the Gray Wolves were not able to advance a runner past second base.
Michigan-Dearborn scored single, unearned runs in both the first and fourth innings before adding two more tallies in the fifth on a triple and double.
Annalisse Palma (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview H.S.) and
Emily Wallace (Thornville, Ohio/Lakewood H.S.) each had two hits for the Gray Wolves in the opener.
Milena Applegate (Jerome, Mich./Lumen Christi H.S.) went the distance in the circle for Lourdes, allowing five hits and just two earned runs in a complete game effort while striking out four.
In game two, Michigan-Dearborn (9-7, 9-7 WHAC) took advantage of two Lourdes errors in the third to score a pair of runs, one of which was unearned.
Lourdes finally broke through on the scoreboard in the fifth.
Jenna Harris (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West H.S.) singled with one out and eventually scored on a two-out single by Palma.
The Wolverines answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth and added two more on a home run in the sixth to complete the scoring.
Harris had the only two-hit game for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes managed seven hits off of Ashlynn Henderson, who went the distance striking out seven for Michigan-Dearborn.
Ashley Roth (LaRue, Ohio/Elgin H.S.) tossed a complete game for Lourdes, allowing nine hits and four earned runs while striking out three.
Lourdes (4-27, 1-11) will remain on the road Sunday as the Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face Indiana Tech. First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. at Warrior Park.
