Lourdes faced its second NAIA top-10 opponents in its first three games on Wednesday evening, suffering a 26-0 setback to eighth-ranked Concordia (Mich.) at Wildcat Stadium.
The Gray Wolves kept the game close over the first 15 minutes, trailing just 4-0, when the Cardinals scored a flurry of goals, scoring seven times in the next five minutes to break the game open. Concordia (5-1, 4-0 WHAC) took a 15-0 lead into halftime.
The Cardinals added to their lead throughout the second half and held Lourdes without a shot attempt for the game, outshooting the Gray Wolves 56-0.
Jacque Pappadakes (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River H.S.) made 18 saves for Lourdes in goal, including 10 in the first half. Pappadakes also had six ground balls for the Gray Wolves.
Lourdes (0-3, 0-3) remains home on Saturday afternoon, hosting Aquinas for Senior Day. The opening draw is set for 4:30 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
