Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lourdes Remains Unbeaten with 2-1 Win at Bethel (Ind.)

Lourdes pushed its season-opening unbeaten streak to six (3-0-3) on Saturday evening with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Bethel (Ind.) at Morey Field in Mishawaka, Ind.

Neither side would find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes as the host Pilots held a 6-5 shot advantage in the first half.

Bethel would strike first just 6:37 into the second stanza.  Esther Karhayu scored the match's first goal with Emily Smithberger garnering the assist, putting the Pilots in front 1-0.

Lourdes would tie the game just under seven minutes later.  Brynn McGarvey (Meridian, Idaho/Rocky Mountain H.S.) would become the first Gray Wolf this season with multiple goals, scoring her second of the season unassisted to knot the match at one.

With 23:06 to play in the second half, Abigail Mann (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) tallied her second goal of the year, giving her a team-leading five points on the season.  Mann's unassisted tally would prove to be the match-winner, her fifth such goal in her three-year Lourdes career.  Mann now has 12 career goals.

Bethel (0-8) would outshoot the Gray Wolves 15-10 for the match, but Kerstyn Williams (Taylor, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) would made three saves between the posts for Lourdes in the win.  Corryn Berlin made six saves in net for the Pilots.

Lourdes returns home on Tuesday afternoon to conclude the non-conference portion of its schedule as the Gray Wolves welcome Goshen to Wildcat Stadium.  Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
