Goshen scored midway through the second half for the lone goal of the match on Tuesday afternoon, handing Lourdes its first defeat of the 2021 season 1-0 in the Gray Wolves' final non-conference match of the season at Wildcat Stadium.
In a defensive opening half in which each side had just one shot on goal, Goshen finished the 45 minutes with a 4-2 overall shot advantage.
Lourdes would outshoot the Maple Leafs 6-5 in the second stanza, with Goshen finishing the match with a 9-8 shot edge.
Goshen (4-3) scored the lone goal with 21:09 to play. A long service into the penalty area from the left wing found the head of a Gray Wolf defender and ricocheted into the back of the net for an own goal.
Emmy Rodger (Romeo, Mich./Romeo H.S.) made three saves in goal for Lourdes while MaKiah McCain made three stops for the shutout for the Maple Leafs.
Lourdes (3-1-3) will return to the road on Saturday afternoon to open up Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play at Siena Heights. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian, Mich.
