Lourdes wrapped up its season-opening nine-match road trip on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 25-21, 25-14, 25-20 decision to Madonna inside of the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena in Livonia, Mich.

"This is a team that we needed to play our best volleyball and capitalize on every opportunity that was given and we simply didn't do that," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We do show signs of a level that we are capable of so we will have to work to make that more consistent."

Kylee McBride (Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Ridge H.S.) led Lourdes with 12 kills while
Macey Zinser (Bucyrus, Ohio/Wynford H.S.) added 11 kills and hit .320.Â
Katey Stakolich (Parma, Ohio/Normandy H.S.) handed out a team-high 31 assists.

Defensively,
Quinn Yondo (Grand Rapids, Mich./Catholic Central H.S.) tallied 17 digs for the Gray Wolves while Stakolich added 13 more.Â

Jodie Kelly had a team-high 12 kills for Madonna (12-3, 4-0 WHAC) while Molly Miller added 10 kills with a .409 hitting mark. Jamie Ciacico registered 10 digs.

Lourdes (2-7, 0-4) will open its home campaign on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Northwestern Ohio. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
