A 19^th-minute goal proved to be the difference on Saturday evening as Lawrence Tech defeated Lourdes 1-0 at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield, Mich.

"It's a disappointing performance today," head coach Matt Johnson said afterwards.  "We started out very flat and were fortunate to only be behind by one at halftime. We were somewhat improved with our energy level in the second half but for the third game in a row we started quite tentatively and conceded the first goal.  Credit to Lawrence Tech, they defended their lead well, outworked us, and are deserving winners."
 
The match was nearly even throughout, with both teams finishing with 13 overall shots, five in the first half and eight over the final 45 minutes.
 
The Blue Devils broke through as Danann Silvestre scored the only goal of the contest 18:45 into the match with Zane Arnold and Reece Still drawing the assists.
 
The Gray Wolves had a pair of opportunities late in the match for the equalizer, but Ian Janus made two of his four saves over the final three minutes.  Alex Brock (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) made one stop for Lourdes.
 
Lawrence Tech (1-4-5, 1-1-1 WHAC) held a 6-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities in the match.
 
Lourdes (3-6-1, 1-2) returns home to Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Madonna.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
