Offense Explodes in Victory over Cleary

Lourdes scored a season-high four goals on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves closed out the home portion of their schedule with a 4-0 victory over Cleary at Wildcat Stadium.
 
Chloe Shaffer (Rossford, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) put the Gray Wolves in front just 2:08 into the contest.  She took a through ball from Brynn McGarvey (Meridian, Idaho/Rocky Mountain H.S.) and converted for her first goal of the season.
 
Shaffer made it 2-0 Lourdes with 18:44 to play before halftime, notching her 15th career goal, second most in program history.
 
Less than four minutes later, following a Gray Wolf corner kick, Karlie Heilman (Warren, Ohio/Harding H.S.) got her head on the ball before Keira Boskovich (Clinton Township, Mich./Chippewa Valley H.S.) knocked the ball in the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.
 
Lourdes took the 3-0 advantage into halftime after having seven corner chances in the opening 45 minutes as well.
 
The Gray Wolves' final tally was a result of an own goal knocked in by the Cougars with 20:25 to play in the contest.
 
The hosts finished the match with a 16-4 shot advantage and a 10-0 edge in corners.  Emmy Rodger (Romeo, Mich./Romeo H.S.) made three saves in goal, extending her school records with her eighth shutout of the season and 12th of her career.  Tara McGrath made five first half saves for Cleary (3-11, 1-9 WHAC).
 
Lourdes (7-4-4, 5-4-1) will wrap up the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Dearborn, Mich. to face the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  Kickoff is set for noon at Star International Academy.
