Lourdes Nets Senior Day Victory over Rochester

Kayla Dillinger (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney H.S.) scored twice on Saturday afternoon as Lourdes celebrated Senior Day at Wildcat Stadium with a 2-1 victory over Rochester (Mich.).

"It was great to get a win on Senior Day to honor this special group that has meant so much to the growth of our program," head coach Jackie Phillips said afterwards.

Prior to kickoff, the Gray Wolves recognized Erin Caldwell (East Lansing, MIch./East Lansing H.S.), Emily Johnson (Lapeer, Mich./Lapeer H.S.), Katie Koch (Westerville, Ohio/North H.S.), Abigail Mann (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.), Jayla Musselman (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.), Kim Nagel (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.), Chloe Shaffer (Rossford, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.), Jules Snowden (Cincinnati, Ohio/Wyoming H.S.), Erika Turk (Parma, Ohio/Parma H.S.), and Annah Zacerkowny (LaSalle, Ont./Sandwich H.S.), with all 10 of the senior drawing a starting assignment.

Shortly after the game kicked off, Nagel played a long ball ahead through the middle of the field to Dillinger who scored just 8:14 into the contest.  Rochester wasted little time evening the match though, as Sammi Springer dribbled by the Lourdes defense and scored just 3:35 later to tie the contest.

The match remained 1-1 into halftime with the Warriors holding a 4-2 shot advantage.  Rochester (6-4-1, 2-3 WHAC) would finish the contest with a 12-5 edge but Lourdes scored the final goal.

Dillinger picked up a loose ball and scored from 15 yards out just 1:07 into the second half with what proved to be the match-winning goal and the sophomore's team-leading fourth tally of the year.

Emmy Rodger (Romeo, Mich./Romeo H.S.) finished with four saves on the day while Lyndsey Price made three stops for the Warriors.

Lourdes (4-2-4, 2-2-1) returns to the road on Wednesday evening, traveling to Fort Wayne, Ind. to battle Indiana Tech.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Warrior Athletic Field.
