Lourdes University head coach
Caitlin Blanchard has announced that
Maddie Darrah will be transferring to Lourdes for the spring semester and play softball for the Gray Wolves.
Darrah, a catcher and utility player, arrives at Lourdes from Bethel University (Ind.) where she spent one semester.
"Maddie is a really talented local player and we're happy to have her join the team next semester," Blanchard said. "She was a key player for Springfield last year during their fantastic postseason run. She's a very competitive player and her passion for the game really shines through when she's competing in pressure situations."
A native of Springfield, Ohio, Darrah was a four-year letterwinner at Springfield High School where she helped the Blue Devils to a state runner-up finish as a senior. As a senior, she set a school record with 14 home runs, including a homer in six consecutive games.
Darrah was a First Team All-Northern Lakes League selection as a senior after earning Second Team All-NLL accolades her junior season. She also earned All-State honors in 2022 and was a two-time First Team All-District honoree.
