Indiana Tech jumped out to an early lead and Lourdes could never recover on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves dropped a 22-4 decision to the Warriors at Warrior Athletic Field in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The Warrior's scored the game's first five goals in less than a five-minute span before
Sarah Przyojski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) put the Gray Wolves on the scoreboard with 8:05 to play in the opening quarter. Indiana Tech closed the stanza with the next six goals though and added two more early in the second to build a 13-1 lead.
Amelia McCourt (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Bloomfield Hills H.S.) scored from the free position to end the Indiana Tech run and Przyojski added her second goal of the game right before halftime as the Gray Wolves trailed 15-3 at the break.
Indiana Tech (6-5, 5-3 WHAC) scored the only four goals of the third quarter before
Sydney Duran (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) found the back of the cage to open the fourth for Lourdes final tally. The Warriors added three late goals to close on the game.
The Warriors finished the game with a 41-10 shot advantage and a 46-21 edge in ground balls. Indiana Tech also won 21 of the 29 draw controls.
Przyojski led Lourdes with four ground balls and three draw controls as well while
Maddie Wadesisi (Cleveland, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) made nine saves in goal.
Abby Barkdull led Indiana Tech with seven goals while Faith Donally added five more. Sydney Oberdorfer made four saves in goal for the Warriors.
Lourdes (2-7, 2-6) will close out the 2022 regular season on Thursday evening as the Gray Wolves host Madonna. The opening draw is set for 7 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
