Lourdes snapped its two-game losing skid on Wednesday afternoon with a 12-7 triumph over Madonna on the road at the Madonna Soccer & Lacrosse Field in Livonia, Mich.
Nick Johnson (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.),
Caden Louthan (Dripping Springs, Texas/Dripping Springs H.S.), and
Tyler Pezzot (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek H.S.) each scored three times while
Kyle Williams (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick H.S.) and
Jake Busta (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad H.S.) each found the back of the cage for the first time this season.
Chad Causley (Clinton Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse H.S.) opened up the scoring nearly 10 minutes into the game only to see the Crusaders find the equalizer before the end of the opening quarter. Johnson and Louthan opened the second with back-to-back goals, giving Lourdes a lead it would not relinquish the rest of the way.
After Madonna pulled within one, 3-2, Pezzot and Williams both scored before halftime to give the Gray Wolves a three-goal advantage at the break.
Pezzot then scored the first two goals of the third to push the lead to five as Lourdes would not allow Madonna to climb closer than three the rest of the way. Leading 9-6 early in the fourth, Busta and Johnson scored the next to goals to solidify the win.
