Karlie Heilman's (Warren, Ohio/Harding H.S.) goal late in the first half lifted Lourdes to a 1-0 victory over Point Park on Saturday evening at Wildcat Stadium.
The Gray Wolves played with a man advantage for the final 78 minutes of the contest after a Pioneer was sent off for a red card just 11:24 into the contest.
Lourdes controlled the play offensively, outshooting Point Park (0-5) 22-5 for the match and had a 9-1 edge in corner kick opportunities.
The match remained scoreless until 4:14 to play before halftime.
Kayla Dillinger (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney H.S.) fired a shot that Ella Serlin made a save on, but Heilman was there to bang home the rebound for the lone goal of the night.
Serlin made seven stops in net for the Pioneers while
Emmy Rodger (Romeo, Mich./Romeo H.S.) made three saves for the clean sheet.
Lourdes (2-0-2) takes to the road next Saturday, Sept. 17, for the final non-conference match of the season, traveling to Goshen. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at the Goshen Soccer Complex in Goshen, Ind.
