Lourdes wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule without a loss on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves battled Goshen to a scoreless draw at the Goshen Soccer Complex in Goshen, Ind.
Â
The tie was the third of the season for the Gray Wolves, and second scoreless battle the team has played this year.
Â
"The girls have proven that we are a challenging team to get a result against," head coach
Jackie Phillips said afterwards. "We've got to sharpen our final third execution but this team has made nice strikes going into conference play."
Â
The Gray Wolves outshot the Maple Leafs by three in both halves, finishing the evening with a 15-9 shot advantage.Â
Emmy Rodger (Romeo, Mich./Romeo H.S.) made one save for her seventh career clean sheet. She ranks second alone on the school's all-time shutout list now. Victoria Naylor made six stops in her shutout effort for Goshen (3-3-1).Â
Â
Lourdes (2-0-3) will open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play next Saturday as the Gray Wolves host Cornerstone. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
