Lourdes began its 2023 competitive cheer season on Saturday morning posting a pair of victories over Point Park on Senior Day inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
 
"I'm extremely proud of the performance today," head coach Kortney Nieckarz said afterwards.  "This team overcame a lot of adversity this week and stayed resilient.  We are happy the scores improved for the second meet and will continue to work hard on the routine execution."
 
In the first meet, Lourdes posted a score of 72.60 to outdistance Point Park, which posted a mark of 61.85.  The Gray Wolves had 0.75 points worth of deductions in their opening performance.
 
The second meet saw the Gray Wolves skyrocket to a 78.35 total, defeating the Pioneers which finished at 61.35.  Lourdes had 0.5 points in deductions in their second performance while Point Park was clean in both routines.
 
Lourdes will return to the mat on Jan. 29, taking part in the Halo Classic hosted by Siena Heights.  Action begins at 11 a.m. inside the SHU Fieldhouse.
