Lourdes built a 13-point halftime lead on Saturday afternoon, but the University of Michigan-Dearborn rallied in the second half to defeat the Gray Wolves 67-59 inside of Allied Alliance Credit Union Arena in Livonia, Mich.

"It was definitely a game of two halves," head coach
Tandy Bradford said afterwards. "Defense, rebounding, and good decisions with the ball are something we have to do consistently at a high level to win."

The Gray Wolves started fast, building a quick 13-2 lead just over five minutes into the contest behind 10 points from
Emma Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.). The Wolverines would close the quarter scoring the final nine points though, closing to within two, 15-13.

Lourdes used a 9-0 run of its own in the second to push the lead back to 11, 26-15, midway through the stanza. The Gray Wolves would maintain the advantage the rest of the half, taking a 34-21 lead into the locker room.

The lead was eight, 44-36, with four minutes to play in the third when Michigan-Dearborn held the Gray Wolves without a field goal the remainder of the quarter to cut the Lourdes lead to two, 45-43, heading into the final 10 minutes.Â

The Gray Wolves led by four, 52-48, with seven minutes to play, when the Wolverines made their late run. The hosts made a three with three minutes to play to take the lead and would not relinquish it the rest of the way.

Pedroza led Lourdes with 22 points while
Macie Stringfellow (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) added 10 more along with a team-high nine rebounds.

Siena Smith led all scorers with 25 points for Michigan-Dearborn (6-13, 3-8 WHAC) while Abby Fullerton added 11 more.

Lourdes (6-13, 3-8) returns home to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Siena Heights. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
