Shae Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) matched a career-high with 26 points on Thursday night but Spring Arbor rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Lourdes 86-74 inside of McDonald Athletic Center in Spring Arbor, Mich.
Alana Nelson answered with 47 points and 16 rebounds for the Cougars.
After the two sides played a nearly even opening period, Lourdes went on a 13-2 run in the second and built a 50-40 lead at halftime as Pedroza scored 21 of her points in the opening 20 minutes.
Spring Arbor (9-2) scored 16 of the first 19 points of the third period, taking the lead with 3:44 to play in the stanza. The Cougars would maintain their three point edge heading to the fourth.
The hosts pushed their lead to seven, 69-62, in the first two minute of the fourth before Lourdes pulled within two, 72-70, at the 5:35 mark. The Gray Wolves would manage just one field goal the rest of the way though.
Emma Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) and
Nakiya Sigman (Lima, Ohio/Lima Senior H.S.) both added 11 points while
Halle Barnett (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) chipped in 10 more for the Gray Wolves.
Lourdes (3-6) returns home on Saturday evening as the Gray Wolves return to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action hosting Concordia (Mich.). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
