Lourdes saw its 2022-2023 season come to a close on Thursday evening as the Gray Wolves suffered an 85-52 setback to 16^th-ranked Indiana Tech in the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament inside the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
 
"We came out in the first quarter and did a solid job with our game plan but didn't capitalize enough off of multiple opportunities to be out front," head coach Tandy Bradford said afterwards.  "Once a team like Tech that has depth on scoring and rebounding in every position takes a hold of the pace you really have to do an exceptional job in every possession.  We couldn't ever string together a run of scoring and stops that needed to happen before halftime."
 
The Gray Wolves hung tough in the opening period, leading by as many as five early.  A 9-2 run by the Warriors put the hosts on top for good, but Indiana Tech led just 18-16 after 10 minutes.  The Warriors scored the first 18 points of the second period to pull away, limiting Lourdes to just 1-of-12 shooting and just four points in the quarter while building a 40-20 lead at the break.
 
The Indiana Tech lead grew to 29 after three periods and the Warriors led by as many as 35 in the fourth as the Gray Wolves were never able to cut the deficit under 20 in the second half.
 
Macie Stringfellow (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) led Lourdes (9-20) with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-7 from three-point range.  Shae Pedroza (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) added 12 points as the Gray Wolves shot 35.7% from the floor.
 
"We have learned that we can compete at a high level and have such a young group of exciting team members that the future is exciting," Bradford added.  "We will build off this in the offseason.  We are very appreciative of our families and fans that were so supportive all season in person or watching online."
 
Genevieve Decker led Indiana Tech (25-4) with 21 points while Erika Foy added 19 more as the Warriors shot 52.5% from the field.
