Lourdes closed out the month of February with its fifth consecutive victory on Tuesday evening as the Gray Wolves swept Siena Heights 25-16, 25-15, 25-17 inside the Russel J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

"We did what we needed in order to get the win tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match.  "We served aggressively.  We have got to be more efficient offensively, but our defense was really good tonight."

The Gray Wolves limited the Saints to -.013 hitting on the evening with just 19 total kills over the three sets.  Lourdes, on the other hand, put down 32 balls and swung at a .237 clip.

After Siena Heights scored the first three points of the match, Lourdes used five straight points off the service of
Sawyer Schafer (Monroeville, Ohio/Monroeville H.S.) to take the lead and never looked back.  With the set tied at eight, the Gray Wolves went on another four-point run and used a final 7-0 spurt when Schafer served again late in the stanza to take the opening set.

In the second, the Gray Wolves jumped out to a 6-2 advantage and never looked back.  A late 7-2 run allowed Lourdes to extend the lead late on the way to building a two-set lead in the contest.  There were 10 ties in the third set, the last coming at 10-10, but Lourdes used a four-point run to take the lead for good and break the deadlock.  The Gray Wolves then closed with the final seven points of the match after the Saints closed to within 18-17.

Eduardo Ayala (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Dom Bosco) led Lourdes with nine kills and hit .368 while
Jaber Badarne (Arrabe, Israel/Hof Hasharon) added eight more.

Gabriel Vianna (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio do Instituto Padre Machado) picked up 13 digs.

Jakob Pickett led Siena Heights (5-8, 3-7 WHAC) with six kills while Zak Tucker had nine digs for the Saints.
