Lourdes dropped both games of a doubleheader to the University of Northwestern Ohio on Tuesday afternoon, falling 7-6 in the opener and 26-10 in game two at Racer Field.
 
In the opener, the Racers jumped in front quickly, scoring three times in the opening inning on a home run off the bat of Ben Jackson.  Lourdes answered with a run in the second as Joey Oehlers (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford H.S.) doubled home Hunter Mix (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton H.S.), who had drawn a walk.
 
The Gray Wolves took the lead in the third, scoring four times.  Steve Haugh (Waterville, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) hit a sacrifice fly before Mix singled to tie the game.  An error and a bases loaded walk followed as Lourdes built a 5-3 lead.
 
The advantage grew to three as Ryan Jagodzinski (Perrysburg, Ohio/Rossford H.S.) doubled home A.J. Brinson (Bloomington, Ind./South H.S.) in the fifth, but Northwestern Ohio would tie the game in the bottom of the inning with three runs of its own.
 
The game stayed tied until the bottom of the seventh when the Racers tallied three straight two-out singles, the last by Drake Miller, winning the game.
 
Joel Suraganan (Pickerington, Ohio/Dunbarton H.S.) and Oehlers each had two hits as Lourdes tallied seven in the opener.
 
Northwestern Ohio (6-10, 3-1 WHAC) scored in all six plate appearances in game two.  After scoring one in the first, the Racers erupted for 10 in the second on the way to building a 19-0 lead after five frames.
 
The Gray Wolf bats came alive in the sixth as 14 hitters came to the plate in the inning.  Lourdes scored 10 runs in the inning on just six hits.  Michael Strzelewicz (Temperance, Mich./Saint Mary's Catholic Central H.S.) singled hoe two runs in his first plate appearance of the inning before doubling in wo more to conclude the scoring.  Harrison Jackson (Millbury, Ohio/Lake H.S.) and Carson Barker (Alliston, Ont./Banting Memorial H.S.) both had run-scoring doubles in the inning as well.
 
The Racers immediately responded, sending 12 batters to the plate in the sixth inning, scoring seven times to invoke the 10-run rule.
 
Strzelewicz had three hits in game two while Jackson had a two-hit game as well. 
 
Lourdes (6-9, 2-2) continues its road swing this weekend as the Gray Wolves travel to Rochester Hills, Mich. for a four-game series against Rochester (Mich.).  First pitch in game one of Saturday's doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. at Bill Shinsky Field.
