Lourdes returned to the road on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 21-4 decision to Aquinas at the Aquinas Athletic Field in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Gray Wolves hung close for most of the opening quarter.
Amelia McCourt (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Bloomfield Hills H.S.) scored the game's first goal just 42 seconds into the game and added her second with 5:36 to play in the opening period to tie the game at two.
Sarah Przyojski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) put Lourdes in front 3-2 with 4:17 to play in the first but the Saints would score four times in the final 3:38 to take a three-goal lead into the second.
Trailing 8-3,
Joelle Rawski (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) scored a player-up goal with 9:13 to play before halftime, but that would be the Gray Wolves' final tally of the day. Aquinas took an 11-4 lead into the break and added three more goals in the first five minutes of the third. The Saints added seven more goals in the final stanza.
Aquinas (6-1, 3-0 WHAC) outshot Lourdes 47-11 for the game, with
Danielle Jackson (Fenton, Mich./Lake Fenton H.S.) making 14 saves in the cage for the Gray Wolves.
Jordin Rawski (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) picked up a team-high seven ground balls and caused four turnovers while her sister Joelle added six more. Przyojski won five draw controls.
Lourdes (2-3, 0-3) returns home for its next three games, beginning on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Rochester (Mich.). The opening draw is set for 4 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
