Lourdes saw its season come to a close on Saturday afternoon as the 13^th-ranked Gray Wolves dropped a 29-31, 25-21, 25-14, 25-10 decision to 12^th-ranked Indiana Tech in the championship match of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament inside the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
 
"This was a tough match," head coach Greg Reitz said afterwards.  "We battled for a first set victory but were unable to match that effort the rest of the match.  Indiana Tech played a really solid match, and we didn't."
 
The opening set had 16 ties and five lead changes before the Gray Wolves won the set, capitalizing on their fifth set point.  Lourdes hit .333 in the opening stanza with 14 kills.  The Warriors answered in the second, using an 8-3 run midway through the stanza to take the lead for good.
 
Indiana Tech (19-7) would make just one attack error in each of the final two sets while Lourdes hit .045 and -.086 in the third and fourth sets respectively.  The Warriors closed the third frame on an 11-4 run and used an early 9-1 spurt in the fourth to secure the title.
 
Eduardo Ayala (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Dom Bosco) put down 19 kills while hitting .429 for the Gray Wolves and also picking up 11 digs.  As a team, Lourdes (19-8) hit just .107 for the match.  Defensively, Gabirel Vianna (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio do Instituto Padre Machado) also had 11 digs.
 
Raekwon Rogers led Indiana Tech with 15 kills on just 18 swings for an .833 hitting percentage.  Brandon Jones handed out 45 assists for an offense that hit .402 as a team while Joey Hermes picked up 20 digs.
