Lourdes Falls to No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan to Open Weekend in Windy City

Lourdes began its weekend in Chicago, Ill. on Friday evening, dropping a neutral site contest to eighth-ranked Indiana Wesleyan 25-14, 25-16, 25-9 inside the Shannon Center.

"This was a very good team and we competed well with them for parts of the match, but their consistency is unlike what we have experienced so far," head coach Greg Reitz said afterwards.  "We will need to emulate their efficiency going forward and our results will change."

Indiana Wesleyan hit .427 as a team for the match with 51 kills in the three sets, on just 103 swings, committing only seven attack errors.

The Gray Wolves were within one, 13-12, midway through the opening set when the Wildcats went on an 11-1 run to pull away.  Set two was similar, tied at 13, before Indiana Wesleyan used an 11-2 spurt to jump in front.  Lourdes managed just three kills in the final set, and the Wildcats scored eight straight points midway through the set, to complete the sweep.
