Women's Basketball Falls to Aquinas in WHAC Action; 74-55

Gray Wolves Struggle in Second Half, Drop to 3-2 in Conference Play

SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University women's basketball team couldn't overcome a tough start and struggled with shooting in a 74-55 loss to Aquinas College on Saturday afternoon at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center. The Gray Wolves dropped to 7-3 on the season and 3-2 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play.

Emma Pedroza led Lourdes with a strong performance, finishing with 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. She also added six rebounds and three assists, leading the Gray Wolves in multiple categories. Macie Stringfellow also contributed offensively, scoring 16 points while pulling down six rebounds.

Grace Ryan added nine points and two rebounds, while Tamyah Worthy chipped in six points and a team-high five rebounds.

Despite shooting 37.7% from the field, including 16.7% from three-point range, Lourdes managed to rally in the third quarter, where they outscored Aquinas 22-19. However, it wasn't enough to close the gap after trailing 40-20 at halftime. The Gray Wolves were held to just 13 points in the first and second quarters combined.

Aquinas, now 5-5 overall and 4-1 in the WHAC, dominated the first half and controlled the game throughout. Lourdes was unable to build much momentum in the second half, and Aquinas held a lead as large as 16 points.
