Upcoming in Gray Wolves Softball: Lourdes heads to the Sunshine State for its annual spring trip.  The Gray Wolves will play a doubleheader on Saturday at Webber International before heading to USSSA Space Coast for 10 games beginning on Monday afternoon.

Head Coach Caitlin Blanchard: In her third season on the Lourdes bench, Caitlin Blanchard has a 31-52 (.373) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a collegiate head coach.  She is the only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes has never met Webber International on the softball diamond.  Trinity Christian holds a 3-2 series edge against the Gray Wolves dating back to March 9, 2017.  Lourdes won the last meeting 6-2 on March 7, 2023 in nine innings.  The Gray Wolves and Ave Maria are 1-1 against each other all-time dating back to March 4, 2013.  Lourdes won the last meeting 14-2 in 2014.  Indiana Wesleyan is 5-0 against the Gray Wolves dating back to March 11, 2022.  The Wildcats swept a doubleheader in Marion, Ind. 11-3 and 8-5 earlier this season on Feb. 21.  Lourdes won the only previous game against Fort Lauderdale 8-7 in eight innings on March 6, 2023.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Malone shut Lourdes out 3-0 in game one on Monday at Gray Wolf Field, limiting the Gray Wolves to just six hits.  In game two, Berlynn Keller tossed a three-hit shutout for  Lourdes in a 9-0 victory.  Lindsey McGann was 2-for-3 with four RBI while Emily Wallace drove in two runs.

Scouting Webber International: The Warriors are coming off a 2-0 shutout against Michigan-Dearborn on Tuesday.  Rachel Lamoureaux leads Webber International batting .417 this season with four home runs and 13 runs batted in.  Samantha Proctor bats .333 and has homered three times with seven RBI.  Pitching, Taylor Thomas is 2-4 with a 3.03 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 32.1 innings while Jenna Chaudoin is 2-4 with a 4.09 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 37.2 innings.

Scouting Trinity Christian: The Trolls enter the week following a doubleheader split with Clarke on Feb. 23 and play three games prior to face Lourdes.  Maddy McIntyre is hitting a team-leading .458 while Alex Hofman has a homer and six runs batted in.  Peyton Lowden is 0-3 in the circle with a 2.10 ERA and nine strikeouts in 13.1 innings of work.

Scouting Ave Maria: The Gyrenes are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Alverno on Thursday and host Calumet on Saturday prior to facing Lourdes.  Ryanne Saluter is hitting .456 while Annabella Phillips has a .410 average with 12 runs batted in.  Gina Gallegos is 4-2 in the circle with a 1.68 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 41.2 innings of work.

Scouting Indiana Wesleyan: The Wildcats have been idle since sweeping Lourdes in their season-opening doubleheader on Feb. 21, but plays four games prior to facing the Gray Wolves again.  Morgan Yeater is hitting .800 while Brylee Bilger is batting .600 with two home runs and eight RBI.  Emma Etter-Cox has posted a 1.40 ERA in five innings with eight strikeouts.

Scouting Fort Lauderdale: The Eagles have lost two straight after falling to Huntington on Tuesday but have three more games before facing Lourdes.  Alexia Geary leads the offense with a .366 average and two home runs while driving in 17.  In the circle, Geary is 3-3 with a 4.25 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 54.1 innings.

Best Start in Program History: Lourdes has started the season 5-3 for the best in program history.  The previous best eight-game start came in 2016 when Lourdes opened the year 4-4.

Keller Tosses Shutout: Berlynn Keller tossed her first shutout of the season on Monday against Malone, limiting the Pioneers to three hits in the five-inning contest.  Keller is now 2-1 on the season with a 3.17 earned run average.

Offensive Production: Lourdes is batting .337 as a team with 66 hits through eight games.  The Gray Wolves have scored 47 runs and banged out 19 extra bases hits in the first four twinbills.  Emily Wallace leads the way with a .636 average while Olivia Hickman is hitting .455 with three doubles and nine RBI.  Lindsey McGann is batting .429 while Megan Richardson has seven RBI.

Streaking: Megan Richardson has reached base safely in each of the eight games this season.  Richardson also has a seven-game hitting streak entering Saturday's doubleheader at Webber International.

Gray Wolves Tabbed Ninth in WHAC Preseason Poll: Lourdes was picked to finish in a tie with Siena Heights for ninth place in the WHAC this season according to the league head coaches in their annual preseason balloting.  The Gray Wolves were selected just behind Michigan-Dearborn.  Concordia (Mich.)was tabbed as the preseason favorites.

This and That: Lourdes is 128-269 all-time in the program's 13th season ... Lourdes is 8-20 all-time in extra inning games ... the team has posted a .419 on base percentage ... the Gray Wolves have not yielded a sacrifice bunt yet this year defensively.
