Lourdes ran its winning streak to nine straight matches on Friday evening with a 26-24, 25-20, 25-19 victory over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods inside Hamilton Arena in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind.

"I am glad we stuck with our game plan and were able to come away with the win tonight after a long drive," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We need to get some rest so we can play our style tomorrow."

Lourdes had to fight off a set point by the Pomeroys in the opening set before scoring the final three points of the frame to take the early lead in the match. The Gray Wolves by just one, 15-14, in set two before closing on a 10-6 run and used a late 6-2 spurt in the final stanza to complete the sweep.

Eduardo Ayala (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Dom Bosco) registered a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs for the Gray Wolves while
Reshawn Allen (Montgomery, Ill./Oswego H.S.) put down eight kills on just 11 swings to hit .727 for the night.Â
Joey Bianco (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder H.S.) dished out 38 assists for an offense that hit .252 as a team for the night.

Allen also had five blocks defensively while Bianco and
Sawyer Schafer (Monroeville, Ohio/Monroeville H.S.) each picked up eight digs.Â

Marko Zolnjan led Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (13-11, 2-9 WHAC) with 16 kills and hit .353 while Brycen Yadao picked up 15 digs.

Lourdes (10-7, 10-1) will wrap up its weekend set with the Pomeroys on Saturday afternoon as the two schools meet again at noon inside Hamilton Arena.
