Returning home to Gray Wolf Field for the first time in more than a month on Saturday, Lourdes dropped both ends of a doubleheader to the University of Northwestern Ohio 5-1 and 8-3.
 
The Racers jumped in front with a run in the first and another in the fourth of game one before back-to-back home runs in the sixth spearheaded a three-run inning to put the visitors in front 5-0.
 
Lourdes scored its lone run in the bottom of the seventh as Olivia Hickman (Trenton, Mich./Trenton H.S.) hit a one-out double and Jaylen Jackson (Newark, Ohio/Newark H.S.) followed one batter later with a run-scoring two-bagger of her own.
 
Megan Richardson (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) had the only multi-hit game in the opener for Lourdes.
 
In game two, Northwestern Ohio (19-9, 6-0 WHAC) plated a run in the third, two more in the fourth, and added three in the fifth to build a 6-0 advantage.
 
Emily Wallace (Thornville, Ohio/Lakewood H.S.) doubled to lead off the bottom of the fifth and two ground outs later scored on Jackson's RBI roller to shortstop. 
 
The Racers plated two final runs in the top of the seventh before Lourdes responded in the bottom of the frame.  Rachel Mease (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville H.S.) walked and Lindsey McGann (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson H.S.) singled.  With two outs, Jackson delivered a RBI single.  Berlynn Keller (Ottawa Lake, Mich./Whiteford H.S.) then reached on an error to score McGann with the Gray Wolves' final run of the day.
 
Wallace had two of the team's five hits in the nightcap.
 
Lourdes (7-19, 1-5) will return to Gray Wolf Field on Wednesday afternoon to host Michigan-Dearborn.  The first pitch in game one of the doubleheader is set for 3:30 p.m.
