Lourdes returned to the road on Sunday afternoon, dropping a pair of games to Aquinas 14-6 and 9-5 at DeWitt Stadium in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Gray Wolves took the early lead in the opener, scoring four times in the first inning.
Jase Kennedy (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) singled home the game's first run while
Christian Mays (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) followed with a bases clearing double.
Aquinas responded with 14 straight runs, starting with a single tally in the bottom of the first before scoring three in the third, six in the fourth, and four in the fifth innings.
Andrew Arntson (Luckey, Ohio/Eastwood H.S.) delivered a two-run triple in the sixth to close out the scoring.
In game two, Aquinas (17-19, 9-9 WHAC) plated three runs in the opening inning before
Joel Suraganan (Pickerington, Ont./Dunbarton H.S.) homered to lead off the second for the Gray Wolves.
The Saints seized control with five more runs in the third to build an 8-1 lead, taking advantage of several Lourdes miscues as Lourdes finished the nightcap with seven errors.
Mays delivered an RBI double in the fourth before scoring on a
Cord Noble (Rockford, Mich./Rockford H.S.) sacrifice fly. After Lourdes plated another run in the fifth, Suraganan homered for the second time in the game in the seventh.
Gray Harmer (Delta, B.C./St. Thomas More Collegiate H.S.) also had a pair of hits in game two for the Gray Wolves.
Lourdes (8-26, 7-15) returns to action on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face Indiana Tech. Game one of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. at Warrior Baseball Field.
