Upcoming in Gray Wolves Softball: Lourdes wraps up its six-game homestand this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders at Gray Wolf Field. The Gray Wolves will entertain Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon before playing host to Lawrence Tech for a Sunday matinee.
Head Coach Caitlin Blanchard: In her third season on the Lourdes bench,
Caitlin Blanchard has a 33-68 (.327) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a collegiate head coach. She is the only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes holds an 8-2 advantage against Rochester (Mich.) in a series that began April 4, 2017. The Gray Wolves have won the last four meetings against the Warriors after sweeping a doubleheader in Rochester Hills, Mich. last season by scores of 4-3 in eight innings and 8-1. Lourdes won the only two previous games played at Gray Wolf Field during the 2022 season. Lawrence Tech is 11-1 all-time against the Gray Wolves dating back to March 29, 2017. The Blue Devils have won the last three games between the two schools after sweeping last year's meetings 4-1 and 5-2 in Birmingham, Mich. The two schools split the only previous doubleheader at Gray Wolf Field during the 2022 campaign.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened the week dropping a doubleheader at Cornerstone 9-1 and 8-0 on Monday afternoon.
Brooke Albert went 3-for-3 in the opener while adding one of the team's three hits in game two. On Friday, the Gray Wolves split a twinbill at Aquinas, taking the opener 13-10 before dropping game two 7-4.
Emily Wallace had four hits and four RBI in game one while
Lindsey McGann was 3-for-4 in the nightcap. Saturday Lourdes returned to Gray Wolf Field, falling 5-1 and 8-3 against Northwestern Ohio.
Megan Richardson had a pair of hits in the opener while Wallace went 2-for-3 in game two for the Gray Wolves.
Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors have dropped 17 consecutive games after being swept in a doubleheader 13-5 and 6-3 by Michigan-Dearborn last Saturday at home. Jaya Forti leads Rochester batting .447 on the season while Jessica Laird is hitting at a .333 clip. Alicia McConnell leads the Warriors with two home runs and 11 RBI. In the circle, Chloe Wolfe is 0-4 with a 6.42 earned run average. She has struck out seven in 24 innings of work.
Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils enter the week having won four straight games after a 10-7 and 5-3 doubleheader sweep at home against Cornerstone last Saturday. Lawrence Tech travels to Siena Heights this Saturday before visiting Lourdes. Chloe Hug is hitting a team-best .380 while driving in 19 runs while Abby Gardner is hitting .313 for the Blue Devils. In the circle, Sarah Basket is 3-2 with a 2.15 ERA, striking out 21 hitters in 39 innings of work.
Swinging the Hot Bat: Emily Wallace is off to quite the start for the Gray Wolves at the plate. Despite not making the spring trip, Wallace is hitting a team-leading .469 this year with 15 hits in 32 at bats while driving in 10 runs.
Making an Impact as a Rookie: Lindsey McGann has been solid in her freshman season at Lourdes. She is tied for the team lead with 23 hits this season, batting .354, second best on the team. She also has a team-high three home runs and two triples and is slugging .615 on the year.

Jaylen Jackson leads Lourdes with 14 runs batted in thus far this season.
Olivia Hickman is second on the team with 12 RBI as a total of four Gray Wolves have double digit RBI totals already this year.
In the Circle: Taylor Leggins has led Lourdes in the circle thus far this year. The freshman has logged a team-leading 68.1 innings, despite just six starts on the year. She has pitched in a team-high 19 games though, posting a 3.89 earned run average. Opponents are batting just .264 against her.
Streaking: Brooke Albert enters the weekend having reached base safely in each of her last nine games.
Megan Richardson has the team's longest streak of the season, reaching safely in 12 consecutive contests earlier this year.
Lindsey McGann has the longest active hitting streak at seven, and has reached base safely in her last eight games.
Gray Wolves Tabbed Ninth in WHAC Preseason Poll: Lourdes was picked to finish in a tie with Siena Heights for ninth place in the WHAC this season according to the league head coaches in their annual preseason balloting. The Gray Wolves were selected just behind Michigan-Dearborn. Concordia (Mich.)was tabbed as the preseason favorites.
