Upcoming in Gray Wolves Softball: A key week of softball is ahead for Lourdes as the Gray Wolves have three doubleheaders. The week kicks off on Wednesday with a trip to Siena Heights before Lourdes returns home to face Indiana Tech on Saturday. The week concludes Sunday afternoon as the Gray Wolves entertain Cleary on Senior Day at Gray Wolf Field.
Head Coach Caitlin Blanchard: In her third season on the Lourdes bench,
Caitlin Blanchard has a 35-70 (.333) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a collegiate head coach. She is the only the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Siena Heights holds a 13-10 advantage against Lourdes in a series that began April 21, 2013. The Saints and Gray Wolves split last year's twinbill with Siena Heights winning the opener 6-5 before Lourdes took the nightcap 12-3 in Adrian, Mich. The Saints are 6-2 all-time against the Gray Wolves in Adrian. The Gray Wolves hold the series lead against Indiana Tech 11-9 dating back to April 23, 2013. The two schools split last year's games in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Warriors were 3-1 winners in the opener before Lourdes took game two 7-1. The two schools also split the only previous meeting at Gray Wolf Field in 2022. Cleary is 9-7 all-time against Lourdes dating back to March 21, 2015. The Cougars swept last year's doubleheader in Howell, Mich. 9-7 and 9-1. In Cleary's only previous trip to Gray Wolf Field, the two sides split a twinbill in 2022.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes swept a doubleheader from Rochester (Mich.) 8-0 and 13-5 on Saturday afternoon.
Kirsten Smith threw a no-hitter for the Gray Wolves in the opener while
Lindsey McGann and
Annalisse Palma each drove in two runs. In game two,
Berlynn Keller threw 5.1 innings of no-hit softball while also going 3-for-4 at the plate and
Brooke Albert also had a three-hit game. On Sunday, Lawrence Tech downed the Gray Wolves 12-2 and 12-1 in doubleheader action.
Megan Richardson had two hits in the opener while Palma went 2-for-2 in game two.
Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints enter the week having dropped three straight games after being swept by Concordia (Mich.) 8-3 and 9-0 on Sunday. Siena Heights hosts Grace Christian on Tuesday before entertaining Lourdes. Ellie Thelen is batting .352 to pace the Saints lineup while Emma Marshall and Faith Breinager each have a team-high eight runs batted in. In the circle, Shyann Truax is 4-5 with a 2.86 earned run average and 35 strikeouts in 66 innings.
Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors are coming off a doubleheader split against Cleary, winning the opener 3-2 before falling in game two 6-5 on Sunday. Indiana Tech visits Rochester (Mich.) on Wednesday before heading to Lourdes. Maire Trouba is batting .398 with a team-high 23 runs batted in this season while Katie O'Dobinak and Kennedi Sullivan have each hit two home runs. In the circle, Savannah Bravo is 11-4 with a 1.88 ERA and has struck out 95 in 115.1 innings of work.
Scouting Cleary: The Cougars head into the week after a doubleheader split with Indiana Tech on Sunday. The Cougars dropped the opener 3-2 before taking game two 6-5. Cleary visits Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday and hosts Siena Heights on Saturday before heading to Lourdes. Jenna Wagenschutz leads Cleary batting .338 while Katie Currie has a team-high 13 runs batted in. Jessica Garmen has homered four times for the Cougars. In the circle, Halle Dargie is 4-6 with a 2.15 ERA. She has struck out 26 in 78 innings pitching.

A Program First: Kirsten Smith threw the first no-hitter in Lourdes softball history last Saturday in the 8-0 victory over Rochester (Mich.). The struck out five and walked just two in the complete game victory.
Keller Nearly Matches Smith: One game later,
Berlynn Keller took a perfect game into the fourth inning and finished her outing allowing just one hit in 5.1 innings of work in a 13-5 victory. She did not allow a run in the game two win over Rochester (Mich.).
Swinging the Hot Bat: Emily Wallace continues her solid offense for the Gray Wolves at the plate. Wallace is hitting a team-leading .432 this year with 19 hits in 44 at bats while driving in 12 runs.
Making an Impact as a Rookie: Lindsey McGann has been solid in her freshman season at Lourdes. She is tied for the team lead with 28 hits this season, batting .364, second best on the team. She also has a team-high three home runs and two triples and is slugging .597 on the year. She currently has an 11-game hitting streak and a 12-game on base streak.
This and That: Megan Richardson and
Annalisse Palma are the only Gray Wolves to appear, and start, in all 30 games this season ...
Brooke Albert has reached base safely in her last 13 games ... Palma now has 10 doubles on the year.
