SYLVANIA – Lourdes University volleyball rallied from a two-set deficit to earn a thrilling five-set victory over Northwestern Ohio (18-25, 17-25, 25-18, 25-22, 15-9) on Friday night inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
Senior
Jolie Sobb led the Gray Wolves with a dominant two-way performance, finishing with 21 kills and a season-high 25 digs for her eighth double-double of the year. Senior
Rachel Allison added nine kills and three service aces, while sophomore
Mia Karl contributed five kills and a team-best four blocks.
Freshman
Teliya Cole was strong on both sides of the net, recording three kills, two aces, and three block assists, while sophomore
Johanna Tester chipped in eight kills and 12 digs. Setter
Rania Pavlidi came off the bench to spark the comeback, dishing out 22 assists, adding three aces, and contributing five digs.
Senior
Arleena Willer and
Emma Coffey anchored the defense with 12 and 23 digs, respectively, helping Lourdes outdig UNOH 90-85 on the night.
After dropping the opening two sets, Lourdes flipped the momentum with a 25-18 win in the third. The Gray Wolves continued their surge in the fourth, holding off a late Racer rally to force a decisive fifth. Lourdes then dominated the final frame, racing out to a 7-1 lead behind strong serving from Coffey and Willer, and never looked back to secure the match 15-9.
The win improves Lourdes to 6-12 overall and 2-10 in WHAC play, while UNOH falls to 5-16 (2-10 WHAC).
