UPLAND, Ind. – Lourdes University cross country competed at the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University on Friday evening, where senior leadership and freshman contributions highlighted the day for the Gray Wolves.
On the men's side, senior
Seth Beerens (Ottawa Lake, Mich./Whiteford) was the first Gray Wolf across the line, covering the 8K course in 30:16.1 to place 103rd overall.
Liam LeBlanc (Macomb, Mich./Henry Ford) followed in 30:22.7, with
Justin Altenbach (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) finishing in 31:00.7,
Maddox Altman (Rossford, Ohio/Rossford) in 32:00.8, and
Gavin Hamilton (Grand Blanc, Mich./Powers Catholic) rounding out the scoring in 32:27.5. Joshua Parish (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) also competed, crossing in 42:50.0.
As a team, the Lourdes men placed 11th overall with a score of 318 in a race won by Indiana Wesleyan.
In the women's 6K race, freshman Aubree Appleman (Britton, Mich./Britton-Deerfield) led the way for the Gray Wolves with a time of 24:55.2, placing 52nd overall in a competitive field that featured multiple nationally ranked programs. Senior A'Maya Hodges (Toledo, Ohio/Springfield) and senior
Dayreona Veley (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) were both listed but did not start.
