GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Lourdes University volleyball wrapped up its two-match weekend in Grand Rapids on Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets to Cornerstone (25-14, 25-14, 25-11) inside Mol Arena.
Senior
Rachel Allison (Toledo, Ohio / Central Catholic HS), senior
Jolie Sobb (Oregon, Ohio / Clay HS), and sophomore
Aleya Baptiste (Toledo, Ohio / Notre Dame Academy) each registered four or more kills to lead the Gray Wolves offensively. Baptiste added a service ace and a dig, while Sobb contributed 14 digs and three block assists. Allison finished with four kills, two block assists, and six digs.
Freshman
Teliya Cole (Toledo, Ohio / Whitmer HS) added four kills and three block assists, and sophomore
Johanna Tester (LaPorte, Ind. / LaPorte HS) hit .375 with three kills and two block assists. Setters
Zoe Schuele (Ottawa Lake, Mich. / Whiteford HS) and
Rania Pavlidi (Athens, Greece / 1st Lykeio Geraka) combined for 19 assists, while Schuele added eight digs and a service ace.
Defensively, senior
Arleena Willer (Holland, Ohio / Springfield HS) collected 12 digs, and senior
Emma Coffey (Mason, Ohio / Bishop Fenwick HS) tallied three more.
As a team, Lourdes finished with 23 kills, 53 digs, and 10 block assists, while Cornerstone hit .241 for the match and registered 12 total team blocks.
The Gray Wolves fall to 6-17 overall and 2-15 in WHAC play.
