GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Lourdes University men's soccer picked up its third straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Aquinas 2-1 on the road behind a second-half game winner from
Martin Coronel (Santa Cruz, Bolivia).
The Gray Wolves grabbed an early lead in the 13th minute when
Tyson Woodring (Toledo, Ohio) scored his second goal of the season, finishing a setup from
Breno Queiroz (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Aquinas quickly pulled even just over a minute later on a goal by Carter Hagan assisted by Trae Collins.
After a tightly contested first half, Lourdes broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute as Coronel buried his team-leading eighth goal of the season, an unassisted strike that gave the Gray Wolves a 2-1 advantage.
Goalkeeper

The Gray Wolves generated consistent pressure with 16 shots and three corner kicks while forcing six saves from Saints keeper Dario Cela.
With the win, Lourdes improved to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the WHAC, while Aquinas fell to 1-7-1 (0-5 WHAC).
