Payton Childers scored less than a minute into the match, and the goal held up as Lourdes University women's soccer earned a 1-0 victory over Aquinas on Saturday afternoon.
Just 28 seconds after kickoff,
Kayden Firsdon set up Childers for her fourth goal of the season, giving the Gray Wolves a 1-0 lead they would not relinquish. Lourdes (7-1, 5-0 WHAC) and Aquinas (5-4, 4-1 WHAC) each finished with 11 shots, but the Gray Wolves held a 7-3 edge in shots on goal.

Samarah Arendsen made three saves to record her sixth shutout of the year, while Kayla Shuk tallied six stops for Aquinas.
The win extended Lourdes' unbeaten conference start to five matches and marked the team's fifth straight shutout.
The Gray Wolves return home on Wednesday, Oct. 8, to host Concordia (Mich.) in WHAC play at Wildcat Stadium.
