Men's Volleyball Rallies to Take Three Straight Sets Over Goshen

The Gray Wolves earned their second conference victory.

SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University men's volleyball team earned its second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) win of the season on Friday evening, defeating Goshen College in four sets inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center. The Gray Wolves battled back after dropping a close opening set to claim a 24-26, 25-19, 25-20, 25-17 victory.

The win showcased a balanced offensive effort, marking the third straight match where Lourdes had at least three players record nine or more kills. Vinicius Lopez led the attack with 15 kills, while Felipe Tramontin and Ben Palma followed with 11 and nine, respectively. The Gray Wolves have displayed depth in their offensive production, continuing to spread out scoring opportunities across the lineup.

Setter Joey Bianco orchestrated the offense efficiently, dishing out 31 assists. This marks the fourth consecutive match in which he has recorded 30 or more assists, cementing his role as a key playmaker for Lourdes.

Defensively, Lourdes limited Goshen to a .074 hitting percentage, the lowest by an opponent this season. The Gray Wolves' defensive improvement was especially evident compared to their previous match against Cornerstone, where they allowed a .298 hitting percentage. The blocking unit was active at the net, led by Palma with three total blocks.

In the back row, Brayden Moyars anchored the defense with a match-high 16 digs. This marked his second straight match with 15 or more digs, following an 18-dig effort against Cornerstone.
