SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) --Â The Lourdes University women's basketball team continued its impressive 2024-25 campaign with an 80-67 win over Rochester Christian University on Wednesday evening inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center, marking another milestone in a historic season. The Gray Wolves, now 17-6 overall and 12-4 in WHAC play, celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a dominant performance.
Emma Pedroza and Macie Stringfellow led the charge for Lourdes, each scoring 18 points. Pedroza added seven assists and four rebounds while also collecting four steals. Stringfellow was highly efficient, shooting 8-of-13 from the field and swiping a game-high seven steals.
The game was tight early, with both teams locked at 17 after the first quarter. Lourdes pulled away in the second, outscoring the Warriors 26-14 to take a 43-31 lead into halftime. Rochester Christian closed the gap in the third, but a strong fourth quarter saw the Gray Wolves put the game away with a 23-17 scoring advantage.
Grace Ryan contributed 13 points and six rebounds, while Nadeen Jemaa and Tamyah Worthy each added 12 points. Lourdes' defense proved to be the difference, forcing 31 turnovers and converting them into 34 points. The Gray Wolves also dominated in the paint, outscoring Rochester Christian 48-16 inside.
Pedroza, Stringfellow, Ryan, Jemaa, and Worthy all reached double figures in the win, marking the second time this season that five or more Gray Wolves have scored in double digits. The last occurrence came on Feb. 1, when Lourdes had five players in double figures during its Senior Day victory over Defiance College.Â
Rochester Christian was paced by Jacey Somers, who tallied a game-high 24 points while knocking down three three-pointers. Samone Andrews added 14 points, while Demi Rodriguez and Ashley Loon chipped in 11 apiece.
